SumUp Spain is seeking an Employment Counsel in Barcelona to lead day-to-day Spanish employment law matters and support the broader EU Legal Team. You will draft contracts, advise HR on practical business issues, and manage Works Council interactions, while collaborating with Europe-wide colleagues.

The role requires a licensed lawyer in Spain with 3–6 years’ experience in employment law, fluent in Spanish and English, and the ability to work closely with the People Team and Barcelona Works

Competenze

• 3–6 years of experience in Spanish employment law
• Experience in private practice and/or in-house legal teams
• Drafting employment contracts and policies
• Advising HR and business stakeholders on practical matters

Mansioni

• Provide practical, day-to-day legal advice on Spanish employment law across the employee lifecycle
• Draft and review employment contracts, policies and other employment documentation
• Support Works Council consultations and collective employment matters
• Advise on disciplinary matters, terminations, mutual separation agreements and organisational change
• Manage external counsel for specialist support or litigation when needed
• Partner with the wider EU Legal Team to keep employment law practices consistent across Europe
