New Relic in Barcelona, Spain, is hiring for its APM Services team to build, improve, and maintain backend systems that power the APM product at scale. You will work on the agent lifecycle pipeline, metric ingestion, processing, and storage across millions of connections and timeslices.

You will collaborate with product and experience teams, tackle complex distributed systems challenges, and use a diverse stack (Kotlin, Java, Kafka, Cassandra, MySQL, PostgreSQL, Redis, cloud services) to deliver

Formación

• Experience with distributed systems, concurrency, and scaling in production environments.
• Strong experience writing software in OOP languages (Kotlin, Java, Go, etc.)
• Familiarity with asynchronous programming techniques: streams, event-based flows, task queues, message queues
• Comfort working in a fast-paced environment focused on delivering production code at a regular cadence using Agile techniques, tools, and methodologies
• A collaborative work style that includes colleagues in important decisions and leads to shared code ownership
• Adaptability in a rapidly changing industry, curiosity about AI and readiness to enhance your development workflow
• Proficiency in English

Responsabilidades

• Build, maintain, and scale backend services across the APM data pipeline - from agent connection and registration through metric ingestion, processing, and storage
• Participate in architectural definitions with a high degree of innovation and creativity
• Work closely with product and experience teams to understand product specifications and influence the roadmap for the APM product at New Relic
• Create automation and tooling to make our systems more scalable and easier to deploy
• Work in an agile environment with a DevOps approach - teams build and maintain their own software, including participating in on‑call rotations
• Use AI tools to accelerate your development workflow, from writing and reviewing code to investigating production issues, and help the team adopt what works
• Embrace a culture of technical excellence and shared knowledge
