N26 is hiring for an Everyday Banking – Payments role in a hybrid setup from Barcelona or Berlin. You will work in a high-volume environment, building and maintaining scalable software with a focus on security and reliability.

The team emphasizes knowledge sharing and continuous learning. You’ll contribute to modern cloud-native systems, leverage Spring Boot and JVM languages, and collaborate across the Payments team to deliver secure, tested, and well-documented code.

Formación

• Experience with JVM language and Spring Boot in large-scale production systems.
• Sound understanding of microservice architecture.
• Knowledge of relational and non-relational databases, preferably Postgres.
• Experience with cloud architectures, ideally AWS.
• Strong bias for action and delivering results.
• Commitment to security in code.
• Ability to write well-tested and well-documented code.

About the opportunity

You will work in the Everyday Banking domain, within the Payments Team. This is where all payment and card transactions are being managed and processed by modern & high-volume systems that power the best customer experience possible. These teams make banking easy, reliable, seamless and secure - everyday for every customer. This is a hybrid role from Barcelona or Berlin.

In this role, you will:

• Do discovery, design, develop, test, deploy and maintain software in a thriving environment.
• Manage individual project priorities and deliverables while working in a team that enjoys knowledge sharing sessions.
• Stay up to date with the latest trends in technology.
• Propose new findings during our GSDD (Get Stuff Done Days).

What you need to be successful:

• Experience in developing software using a JVM language and Spring Boot in large-scale production systems (note: experience of Kotlin would be a plus).
• Sound understanding of microservice architecture.
• Knowledge of both relational and non-relational databases, preferably Postgres.
• Appreciation of working in a modern cloud architecture, preferably with AWS.
• Strong bias for action and getting things done.
• Ongoing appreciation and consideration for security.
• Motivation to write code which is well-tested and well-documented.
• Ability to give and receive open, direct, and timely feedback.
