Job summary

Scopely in Barcelona is seeking an Animation Lead to steer our Flamed Marketing production. You will supervise storyboard artists and animators, guide storytelling, and ensure high-quality trailers and UA videos for Monopoly GO! and other campaigns.

The role emphasizes leadership, collaboration with cross-functional teams, and hands-on Maya work when possible. Hybrid in-office three days a week in Barcelona.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of professional experience in 3D animation or related field.
• Portfolio or reel showing high-quality 3D character animation and storytelling.
• Advanced knowledge of Maya and professional 3D animation workflows.
• Strong directing and leadership capabilities across a full production.
• Excellent English communication and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead animation and cinematic execution of trailers, cinematics, UA ads and marketing videos from brief to final delivery.
• Direct and review storyboards and animatics for narrative clarity and pacing.
• Supervise 3D layout and character animation, ensuring tone and timing match briefs.
• Directly supervise Storyboard Artists and Animators and coordinate with Producers on priorities.
• Contribute hands-on Maya layout or animation when workload allows and mentor junior artists.
• Identify risks early and propose practical solutions to protect quality and deadlines.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and external vendors for consistent storytelling.
