AstraZeneca plc in Barcelona is seeking a technical lead to harness the power of AI in clinical development. This in-office role requires a minimum of three on-site days per week; remote work or travel flexibility is not available.

You will lead cross-functional teams across oncology focus areas, define AI strategy, evaluate novel methods, and partner with study teams to translate AI into study design and decision making.

Competenze

• PhD required in a quantitative discipline.
• 2–5 years work experience outside of PhD with measurable impact (e.g. models delivered, patents, SaMD filings, first-author publications, open-source projects, standards-body participation)

Mansioni

• Contribute to the AI strategy and roadmap for Oncology early and late phase clinical development.
• Serve as a key technical lead in matrixed teams to deliver high-stakes AI projects.
• Evaluate and develop cutting-edge AI methods in problem definition, data considerations, governance, and validation.
• Partner with clinical development, biometrics, regulatory, and study teams to validate AI solutions in study design and decision-making.
• Establish external collaborations to access novel capabilities and advance the AI roadmap.
• Represent AstraZeneca at scientific conferences and journals; contribute publications.
• Mentor and support peers within the team.
