Job summary

KWAN is seeking an AI Engineer (Python) in Barcelona to lead end-to-end AI projects for finance, coordinating with business stakeholders to define problems and deploy measurable outcomes. You will rapidly build AI apps on an existing platform using RAG pipelines and LangChain, delivering iterative UI with business feedback.

The role requires 5+ years of Python, experience with FastAPI and Streamlit, REST API design, and fluency with cloud data platforms.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional experience with Python.
• Experience with FastAPI and Streamlit.
• RAG pipeline construction (chunking, embeddings, vector search, retrieval evaluation, grounding, citation).
• Experience with LangChain.
• Prompt engineering with evaluation discipline.
• SQL and data modeling.
• REST API design and integration.
• Fluency with a cloud data platform (at least one cloud provider).
• Git, CI/CD, and modern development workflows.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end delivery of AI solutions for Finance business problems, from problem definition to deployment and measurable outcomes.
• Translate ambiguous, evolving requirements into working software, directly with the business stakeholders who own the problem.
• Rapidly build vertical AI applications on top of an existing AI platform, using RAG pipelines and agentic workflows.
• Prototype quickly, delivering a functional UI to business users early and iterating on real feedback.
• Deploy solutions in a regulated environment, respecting governance, RBAC, data residency, audit, and compliance constraints.
• Instrument every solution with usage metrics, adoption tracking, and business outcome telemetry.
