Job summary

Jobgether partners with a company seeking a Backend Engineer (Python) based in Spain to help build an AI-powered voice platform for healthcare, focusing on adults 65+. You will develop Python services, APIs, data models, and background workflows enabling patient enrollment, scheduling, and follow‑ups.

You’ll work within a distributed European engineering team to improve reliability, security, and performance of backend systems, integrate with EHRs, and deploy containerized services in the cloud,

Qualifications

• Production engineering experience building backend services in production.
• Proficiency in Python and HTTP APIs using FastAPI or similar, including async programming.
• Experience with PostgreSQL and data modeling, migrations, and data integrity.
• Experience integrating third‑party services and background jobs/queues with timeouts and retries.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain Python backend services, APIs, data models, and background workflows for patient enrollment, scheduling, and follow-up.
• Enhance AI-powered voice workflows and integrate with tools across languages and care programs.
• Connect voice workflows with EHRs and clinical data platforms to inform conversations.
• Automate patient care coordination and ensure reliable, visible handoffs.
• Build resilient distributed systems handling timeouts, retries, and edge cases without data loss.
• Write automated tests, perform code reviews, and monitor logs/metrics to improve reliability.
