Job summary

Alan, the health prevention platform, is hiring in Spain. You would join the Engineering team building AI agents that answer 1M+ members’ questions about reimbursements, coverage and claims — instantly and without a human.

We move fast with ownership, ship production AI, and use a stack of React, Python/Flask, PostgreSQL. Remote-friendly, in-person collaboration valued; 5+ years of backend experience required.

Qualifications

• 5+ years building scalable software systems.
• Hands-on experience with LLMs and AI agents.
• Strong knowledge of Python and backend systems.
• Experience with production-grade NLP work is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design and ship LLM-powered agents that understand a member's request, reason over contracts, claims and history, and act on their behalf.
• Enable interoperability with other Alan AI agents for a seamless experience.
• Extend automated resolutions to new channels, starting with AI phone support.
• Own evaluation: build datasets, automated evals and monitoring.
• Measure resolution rate and user satisfaction, iterating on prompts and models.
• Collaborate with care experts and product to identify topics to resolve.
