Zurich Insurance Group, through its Technology Delivery Center (TDC) in Barcelona, offers a paid internship for a student in software or data engineering. The role focuses on building Python/FastAPI backend services, integrating LLM capabilities, and creating AI agents within Zurich's insurance tech ecosystem.

Located in Barcelona's Poblenou, the TDC provides hands-on experience on live AI-enabled projects, with a flexible 6–12 month commitment, up to 30 hours per week, and a hybrid work

Formación

• Computer science, software engineering, data engineering or related degree at a Spanish university — active student status mandatory
• Available at least 6 months, up to 30h/week. Preferred if the candidate can stay 12 months.
• Solid python — you can build a backend service and call an API independently
• Knows how REST APIs work, comfortable with GIT
• Curious - you figure things out before asking
• Bonus: React, Docker, SQL, cloud basics, or any hands‑on AI/LLM experience

In essence, Zurich TDC is where technology meets the vast reach of a multinational company. We specialize in areas such as software development, data analytics, cybersecurity, and IT infrastructure. Our primary mission is to support Zurich's strategic goals and enhance operational efficiency through innovative technology solutions.+

Within the TDC, we are the DDP AI Solutions team within Zurich's TDC Barcelona — senior team delivering end‑to‑end AI applications for Group Functions. Current live products include an agentic control testing platform, a regulatory monitoring tool across multiple jurisdictions, an AI assistant for multinational insurance data, and financial crime alerting solutions.

What Makes You a great Fit?

While we’re not seeking perfection or expecting you to save the world, we believe that if you meet some of these requirements, you’ll be a fantastic fit for our team. We are waiting for you!

We are not looking for data scientists or ML engineers. Our AI is assembled from existing models — your job is to build the software around them.
