Job summary

The Barcelona Supercomputing Center (BSC-CNS) in Barcelona invites applications for a Researcher - AI data scientist (R2) within the AI4S program. The role focuses on applying AI and advanced statistical methods to challenges across manufacturing, digital services, energy, and urban contexts, collaborating with experts from multiple research lines.

You will join ongoing projects, help secure future funding, and contribute to end-to-end data science tasks, including data exploration, modeling,

Qualifications

• Masters or PhD in Computer Science, Mathematics, or tech-related field.
• Experience with AI and advanced statistical models applied to science and industry.
• Experience on applied data science projects.
• Strong Python programming experience in AI applications.
• English fluency is essential; Spanish and other European languages advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Data exploration and preparation.
• Talking to end users and domain experts to capture the key components of a problem.
• Exploratory modeling (architecture design, pipeline design).
• Visualization and presentation of preliminary results.
• Advise younger researchers and engineers in the group.
• Help write reports, deliverables, and research proposals.
