Barcelona Supercomputing Center (BSC-CNS) in Barcelona seeks a software developer to consolidate and advance its Earth data verification software environment. You will work within the Data and Diagnostics Team and support R package tools used by scientists to compare simulations with observations and reanalysis across multiple climate scales.

Formación

• Bachelor in Computer Science, Telecommunications, Mathematics, Physics or related discipline.
• Excellent skills in R or similar languages.
• Knowledge of climate data formats (GRIB, NetCDF).
• Experience with UNIX/LINUX environments and scripting languages (bash, etc).
• Previous experience in HPC architecture and parallel programming (multi-threaded apps) is a plus.
• Strong programming skills to manage big and collaborative projects and experience with git.

Responsabilidades

• Coordinate developments of Department R tools, in close relation with the users, giving them the appropriate support within a High-Performance Computing environment.
• Contribute to the deployment and installation of the packages in the shared department environment.
• Contribute to the ongoing strategy for the development of the Earth Sciences Department tools.
