IGTP's Genomics and Transcriptomics of Synucleinopathies (GTS) group seeks a Research Technician with a Master’s to join a project on platelet-derived biomarkers for Lewy body disorders. The role includes RNA expression analyses, genotyping, cell culture, and data handling to translate findings toward diagnostics.
You will contribute to protocol optimization, data interpretation, and manuscript drafting while working in a multidisciplinary team at Can Ruti Campus near Barcelona.
The Genomics and Transcriptomics of Synucleinopathies (GTS) group focuses on the molecular characterization of Lewy body diseases. Over the past decade, we have developed particular expertise in dementia with Lewy bodies (DLB), with the aim of identifying peripheral biomarkers to improve diagnosis and patient management. We are seeking a Research Technician with a Master's degree to join our team and contribute to an ambitious research project with significant potential social impact, particularly for patients and their families.
The successful candidate will participate in a funded research project investigating the diagnostic and prognostic value of platelet-derived biomarkers for Lewy body disorders, particularly at early disease stages. Their work will contribute to the development and molecular characterization of these biomarkers, including the analysis of Olink data and treatment of brain cell cultures with patient-derived platelets. This highly translational research project aims to bridge the gap between molecular discoveries and clinical application, contributing to improved diagnostic tools, better patient care, and the development of future therapeutic strategies.
