Job summary

Vestas' Loads & Control team seeks an engineer to shape wind turbine control technology and optimize performance. You will work across Denmark and Portugal with specialists in loads, software, and product development to advance control solutions.

Using MATLAB/Simulink and model-based methods, you will design, implement, validate, and refine control algorithms that improve energy production and turbine reliability. This role offers an international, collaborative environment.

Qualifications

  • Strong foundation in control systems, dynamic modeling, and control theory.
  • Experience with MATLAB/Simulink in industry, research, or academia.
  • Familiarity with software development practices and agile methods is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and enhance advanced wind turbine control solutions to improve performance and energy production.
  • Design, implement, and validate control algorithms using MATLAB/Simulink and model-based approaches.
  • Support technology development from feasibility studies through implementation and testing.
  • Perform simulations, software verification, and prototype validation for reliable control systems.
  • Collaborate with Loads & Control, software, systems engineering, and product teams globally.
  • Contribute to technical reviews, risk assessments, and continuous improvement initiatives.
