Job summary

Emerson is seeking an Engineer Turbine Control to design, test, and optimize control features for wind turbines across the full lifecycle—from requirements and design to simulation, validation, software release, and commissioning support.

You will collaborate with engineering, project management, field service, sales, and customers to improve turbine performance and control reliability, while developing tools and processes and sharing knowledge with colleagues.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant field and two years of engineering experience.
• Hands-on control-system development, testing, troubleshooting, or validation.
• Advanced working knowledge of MATLAB and Simulink.
• Strong software development, debugging, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience analyzing technical data and preparing specifications, reports, or test documentation.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication.
• Willingness to travel ~30 days per year for testing and support.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, validate, and release turbine-control features based on technical requirements.
• Develop and maintain configurations, test specifications, and release documentation.
• Perform simulations and functional tests to assess turbine loads, performance, and controller behavior.
• Analyze operational data and turbine logs to troubleshoot issues and identify optimization opportunities.
• Tune control software in simulation environments and, when required, at turbine sites.
• Support prototype, retrofit, commissioning, and troubleshooting activities remotely and on-site.
• Provide technical input for project planning, risk assessment, customer discussions, and engineering decisions.
• Improve turbine-control tools, methods, and development processes while sharing knowledge with colleagues.
