Lunar Denmark is seeking a Treasury Manager to join the Treasury team in Aarhus. You will help manage liquidity, interest rate risk, and bond activities while supporting repo and money market operations.

The role focuses on building tools, improving controls, and driving projects in a growing treasury function. You will work closely with Risk, Finance and Compliance, bringing strong communication and hands-on treasury experience.

Qualifications

• A Master's degree in Economics, Finance or related quantitative field or equivalent experience.
• Up to 3 years of banking or treasury experience with liquidity management and risk awareness.
• Strong controls mindset and precise, clear communication with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Participate in daily treasury operations, from liquidity management to FX risk hedging.
• Monitor LCR/NSFR and interest rate risk in the banking book, suggesting hedges.
• Develop market analysis tools to improve Treasury insights and profitability.
• Manage relationships with banks and counterparties for money market and repos.
• Lead treasury projects from concept to delivery and ensure audit-ready processes.
• Maintain Treasury controls, processes and documentation.

Job description

Banking is changing, and we’re building the bank that’s driving that change. Lunar is a Nordic challenger bank, founded in Aarhus in 2015, with offices in Copenhagen, Aarhus and Stockholm. We’re putting AI at the core of how we build and run the bank, but managing the money behind it still takes sound judgement. That’s where Treasury comes in.

As our new Treasury Manager, you’ll join the Treasury team in Aarhus and report to our Head of Treasury. Treasury manages Lunar’s liquidity, interest rate risk and bond portfolio, and makes sure the bank always has the funding, buffers and hedges it needs to stay safe and keep growing.

Lunar is just over ten years old, and our Treasury function is still being built. In most banks, you’d join a team where the setup is already in place. Here, you’ll help shape it. As the bank grows, we’re looking into repo activity, developing the composition of our bond portfolio, exploring a trading book and broadening our mandates. What will you do?

• Take part in daily Treasury operations, from liquidity management to FX risk hedging. A good share of the work is routine and operational, and we won’t pretend otherwise. Doing it well every day is what keeps the bank safe, and it’s how you’ll learn the workflows inside out.
• Monitor key ratios like LCR and NSFR, track interest rate risk in the banking book and recommend hedges when they’re needed.
• Help build the market analysis tools that sharpen Treasury’s view of the world, and use them to make better decisions, manage risk with confidence and grow revenue for the bank.
• Manage relationships with banks and counterparties for money market transactions and repos. That includes challenging current scopes and credit limits, and onboarding new counterparties.
• Spot opportunities to shape the future of Treasury and take projects from first idea to finished result. You’ll also be Treasury’s voice in cross-functional projects, making sure our perspective helps steer the bank’s most important decisions.
• Keep Treasury’s processes, controls and documentation up to date and audit-ready.

What are we looking for in you?

• A Master’s degree in Economics, Finance or a related quantitative field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Up to 3 years of experience in banking or treasury, with a solid understanding of liquidity management, interest rate risk, LCR, NSFR and CRR.
• A detail‑oriented approach and a strong controls mindset. You notice when the numbers don’t add up, and you care about getting them right.
• Clear communication. You work well with Risk, Finance, Compliance and the business, and you explain your analysis and recommendations in a way people act on.
• Drive and curiosity. You’d rather help build something than inherit a finished setup, you like digging into how things really work, and you give the routine parts of the job the same energy as the analytical ones.
• It’s a plus if you have hands‑on experience with money markets, repos, bond portfolios or FX hedging, have worked with a treasury system like FIS Quantum, or have been part of system, data or policy projects. Advanced Excel will help you every day, and Python is a bonus.
