Technical Project Manager

Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a lead for technical projects in Danish glass manufacturing. You will drive concept-to-implementation efforts, define specs, and manage procurement of production equipment across multiple sites.

You will optimize processes, improve quality, reduce costs, and standardize production solutions. Travel 40–50 days/year across Europe.

Qualifications

• A higher education degree in manufacturing engineering, production engineering, mechanical engineering, automation, or a similar field.
• 4–5 years experience in preparing technical specifications and procuring production equipment.
• Experience in technical project management and project planning/execution.
• Understanding of manufacturing and assembly processes and their interconnections.
• Practical knowledge of manufacturing technologies; glass technology is a bonus.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work across sites.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical projects from concept to implementation in glass manufacturing.
• Define technical specifications and manage procurement of manufacturing technologies and production equipment.
• Participate in process optimization, quality improvement, and cost reduction initiatives across VELUX glass plants.
• Prepare and maintain technical requirement specifications with stakeholders.
• Plan, coordinate, and execute projects on time, within scope and budget.
• Collaborate with glass factories and cross-functional teams.
• Solve technical and operational problems.
• Support standardization of production lines and technical solutions across sites.
• Transform new product concepts into mature production setups.
• Implement tech upgrades and transfer/scale solutions across factories.
• Connect product development, technology, and production for efficient tech adoption.
• Travel internationally ~40–50 days/year, mainly in Europe.

• Prepare and maintain technical requirement specifications with relevant stakeholders


• Plan, coordinate, and execute projects on time, within scope, and within budget


• Collaborate closely with glass factories and cross-functional teams


• Solve technical and operational problems


• Support standardization of production lines and technical solutions across sites


• Transform new product concepts into mature production setups


• Implement technological upgrades and transfer and scale solutions across factories


• Connect product development, technology, and production to ensure efficient introduction of new technologies and products


• Travel internationally approximately 40–50 days per year, primarily within Europe

Requirements

• A higher education degree in manufacturing engineering, production engineering, mechanical engineering, automation, or a similar field


• At least 4–5 years of experience in preparing technical specifications and procuring production equipment


• Experience in technical project management and project planning/execution


• Thorough understanding of manufacturing and assembly processes and their interconnections


• Practical knowledge of manufacturing technologies; experience in glass technology is an advantage


• Well-developed problem-solving skills


• Understanding of laser technology, ventilation solutions, and manufacturing processes in clean room environments is highly desirable


• Several years of practical project management experience in a technical environment with multiple workstreams


• Strong planning and coordination skills, including delegating and following up


• Fluent English, verbally and in writing


• Danish is an advantage but not required
