Dedalus is seeking a hands-on Technical Lead / Team Lead Java to guide the LABKA II platform for the Nordic region. You will own architecture, coding standards and technical delivery while mentoring engineers and collaborating with Product, QA and the India hub.

The role may include Team Lead activities and requires 5+ years of Java, strong communication, HL7 knowledge and experience with healthcare software in a Danish context.

Qualificações

• 5+ years of hands-on Java development and relational database design (laboratory/clinical data).
• Proven experience providing technical leadership, making architecture decisions, and mentoring engineers.
• Balancing hands-on technical contribution with technical planning and coordination.
• Interest in or experience with selected Team Lead activities is an advantage but not a requirement.
• Experience with Laboratory Information Systems (LIS) or healthcare software is a strong plus.
• Experience coordinating delivery across distributed/multi-site teams.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• CI/CD pipelines and version control (Git).
• Healthcare/laboratory domain standards and interoperability (e.g., HL7).
• Fluent in Danish and English.

Responsabilidades

• Set and enforce coding standards and code review discipline; identify technical debt and drive remediation.
• Act as the primary technical contact for PM, Architecture, and Support.
• Support selected people-leadership activities such as mentoring and hiring input.
• Drive sprint and release planning in coordination with Product Management and QA.
• Contribute hands-on to complex development tasks and production troubleshooting; participate in code reviews.

What you’ll achieve

We are looking for a Technical Lead / Team Lead Java to provide hands-on technical leadership for Dedalus Danish market-leading Laboratory Information System (LIS), used across hospitals and laboratories in the Nordic region. You own the technical direction of the LABKA II codebase - architecture, code quality, engineering standards, and technical decision-making - while guiding and mentoring engineers through technical challenges. You work closely with Product Management, QA, and the India engineering hub to plan and deliver a stable, high-quality platform. Depending on organizational needs and the candidate's experience and interest, the role may also include selected Team Lead activities. Responsibilities

• 1) Technical Leadership Own technical direction and architecture decisions for the LABKA II platform (Java) Set and enforce coding standards, technical best practices, and code review discipline Identify technical debt and drive remediation within delivery cycles Act as the primary technical point of contact for Product Management, Architecture, and Support


• 2) Optional Team Lead Activities Where agreed, support selected people-leadership activities such as mentoring, development conversations, and hiring input Help foster a collaborative, high-quality engineering culture within the team Support onboarding of new engineers to the codebase and domain If assigned, assist with day-to-day work allocation and team coordination


• 3) Delivery & Coordination Drive sprint and release planning in coordination with Product Management and QA Report on technical progress, risks, and quality to stakeholders


• 4) Hands-On Contribution Contribute hands-on to complex development tasks and production troubleshooting Participate in code reviews and pair on challenging technical problems Stay close enough to the codebase to make credible architecture and prioritization calls Take the next step towards your dream career

Here’s what you’ll need to succeed

Essential Requirements

• 5+ years of hands-on Java development experience and relational database design (laboratory/clinical data)


• Proven experience providing technical leadership, making architecture decisions, and mentoring engineers


• Comfortable combining hands-on technical contribution with technical planning and coordination


• Interest in or experience with selected Team Lead activities is an advantage but not a requirement


• Experience with Laboratory Information Systems (LIS) or healthcare software is a strong plus


• Experience coordinating delivery across distributed/multi-site teams


• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
