Job summary

SYBO in Copenhagen is seeking a Technical Animator to own animation for Subway Surfers. You’ll push stylised gameplay animations and collaborate with a tight art team to deliver production-ready work for a live-mobile game.

You will translate direction into animation choices, implement in Unity, and ensure rigs and weight painting meet quality targets while maintaining performance on older devices. Relocation support and a vibrant studio culture are offered.

Qualifications

• Solid foundation in character animation with portfolio/showreel.
• Strong knowledge of timing, weight, posing, silhouettes.
• Experience using Blender and Unity for production workflows.
• Ability to work independently and take feedback from cross‑department collaborators.

Responsibilities

• Create expressive, production-ready gameplay animations for characters.
• Take briefs from reference through blocking, review and in-game validation.
• Translate creative direction into animation choices and improve craft.
• Implement animations in Unity and fix animation-related issues with the team.
• Create and maintain character rigs, weight painting and secondary motion.
• Own the animation workflow while developing pipeline tools with the Technical Artist.
• Balance animation quality with performance constraints on mobile devices.
• Plan, estimate work and communicate risks early in production briefs.
