Job summary

SYBO in Copenhagen is seeking a Senior Technical Animator to own the animation for Subway Surfers, delivering expressive, production-ready gameplay animations at a regular cadence. You will translate direction into concrete animation choices, implement in Unity, and collaborate with the Technical Artist to refine rigs, skinning and weight painting.

Qualifications

• Solid foundation in character animation with portfolio/showreel.
• Strong understanding of animation principles: timing, weight, posing.
• Experience in Blender and Unity; ability to work independently.
• Ability to collaborate across art, technical and production teams.

Responsibilities

• Create expressive, production-ready stylised gameplay animations for characters and game features on a regular cadence.
• Take animation work from brief through blocking, review, polish, implementation and in-game validation.
• Translate creative direction into clear animation choices and improve craft.
• Implement animations in Unity and fix animation bugs with the Technical Artist.
• Create and maintain character rigs, skinning and weight painting, including secondary-motion setups for hair, capes, bags, hats and similar character elements.
• Own the animation workflow and develop pipeline tools with the Technical Artist.
• Balance animation quality with performance on a live mobile game.
