Job summary

Siemens Gamesa seeks a Team Lead for the Offshore Electrical Module to lead main component engineers and manage lifecycle responsibilities. You will drive strategic and technical leadership, balancing budget, quality, and schedule while guiding risk management and aftermarket solutions.

You will collaborate with multiple engineering departments, mentor a growing team, and report KPIs to senior management to improve reliability and serviceability in offshore wind systems.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering or a related technical discipline.
  • 3-5 years of experience in electrical engineering, ideally in wind energy, renewable energy, or heavy industrial sectors.
  • 3-5 years of managerial/team lead experience with proven technical leadership.
  • Strong analytical capabilities with deep expertise in HV electrical systems (transformers, generators, switchgear).
  • Excellent stakeholder management and collaboration across diverse teams.

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of electrical engineers to meet business needs.
  • Define, monitor, and report team KPIs; drive continuous improvement to enhance performance.

  • Oversee monitoring of main component failure developments, drive issue resolution, and escalate when needed.

Imagine leading a specialized team of main component engineers, establishing our position as a market leader in offshore wind turbine technology. You will balance strategic team leadership with rigorous technical and product lifecycle management, ensuring operations align with budget and quality targets. Your expertise will guide the management of fleet-wide technical risks, from assessing new product risk profiles to resolving in-service issues and developing aftermarket solutions. How You’ll Make An Impact
  • You will manage team operations within agreed budget, quality, and schedule requirements, reporting progress to senior management.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of electrical engineers, ensuring their technical capabilities meet current and future business needs.
  • Define, monitor, and report on team KPIs, driving continuous improvement activities to enhance performance and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with peer managers to ensure optimal resource utilization and strategic alignment across engineering departments.
  • Oversee the monitoring of main component failure developments, driving technical issue resolution and escalating to Major Warranty Projects when necessary.
What You Bring
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering or a related technical discipline.
  • 3-5 years of experince within the following areas electrical engineering, ideally gained within the wind energy, renewable energy, or heavy industrial sectors.
  • 3-5 years of managerial - team lead experience. Proven track record of providing technical leadership, team supervision, or senior-level mentoring within an engineering environment.
  • Strong analytical capabilities combined with deep expertise in high-voltage electrical systems, including transformers, generators, and switchgear.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and relationship-building skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively across diverse teams.

You will be part of a dynamic team focused on service engineering, working closely with the existing fleet to address trending issues and provide critical feedback to the Design Authority. This team is dedicated to delivering third-level support, ensuring that our offshore electrical systems operate at peak performance while driving innovation and improvements in our products.
