Job summary

Whistleblower Software ApS, part of Formalize, is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to own full product development end-to-end and serve as a technical lighthouse. You will collaborate with Engineering, Product, and Design to define architecture and oversee implementations.

You’ll mentor peers and drive learning and growth across the team. The team works with PHP/Laravel, Angular, PostgreSQL, Redis, Claude Code, and AWS Serverless; we offer growth, visa support, and an office-centric culture

Qualifications

• Expert knowledge in at least one layer of our technical stack (we work with PHP and Angular), as well as general software architecture and system design.
• Demonstrated senior experience in a Software Engineering role, designing, building, and maintaining highly scalable systems in production, end-to-end.
• Experience in product development with a focus on quality and value delivery.
• The ability to define technical direction for systems clearly and lead actively in deep architectural and software design sessions.
• Good engineering practices for testing, deployment, & observability paired with the ability to communicate strategic trade-offs clearly, mentor senior colleagues, and increase impact across the organisation.
• The ability to raise the bar for engineering quality and performance through reference implementations and by defining ever-evolving code standards.

Responsibilities

• Accountable for the full product development end-to-end.
• A technical lighthouse, defining architecture and coordinating with other engineers to move how we do engineering forward.
• Collaborating across Engineering, Product, and Design to shape the solution to the problem and oversee technical implementations from end to end.
• A leader and mentor without direct people management. Continuous learning and knowledge-sharing are in your DNA, as you challenge the status quo, iterate, and learn from mistakes to build creative business solutions.
