Job summary

EG invites a Software Architect to shape the technical direction of EG Ajour, applying AI to reduce complexity and enable faster delivery. You will lead architectural decisions, guide development, and own the AI strategy and roadmap.

You will collaborate with developers, Product Owner and Product Manager, explaining trade-offs and ensuring scalable, secure, and high-performing solutions for an international team.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of AI and its daily application in engineering work.
• Solid experience in software design, development and architecture.
• Experience solving problems with significant data complexity.
• A degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field, or equivalent hands-on experience.
• Strong communication skills: explain complexity to developers and stakeholders.
• Genuine interest in coaching and mentoring developers.

Responsibilities

• Design and own scalable, maintainable software architecture that the team can scope and deliver.
• Translate complex requirements into clear designs and explain trade-offs to stakeholders.
• Define and implement the AI strategy for Ajour within the first 6 months.
• Own the technical roadmap and reduce codebase complexity within the first year using AI.
• Coach and support developers from design through code review and collaborate with Product Manager on feasibility and scalability.
• Ensure quality, security and performance of the architecture and document decisions.

Shape the technical direction of EG Ajour and use AI to reduce complexity, so our developers can build smarter and ship faster.

As part of the department

As Software Architect at EG Construction, you will shape the technical direction of EG Ajour, including how we apply AI to reduce complexity and work smarter. You will design solutions that are not just elegant on a whiteboard, but scalable and realistic for our development team to build.

You will work most closely with the developers in the product team, our Product Owner and our Product Manager, partnering with them on everything from architectural decisions to sprint-level trade-offs. You will be the person who can explain a complex technical decision clearly, whether you are talking to a developer or a Product Manager.

Your role: Software Architect

• Design and own scalable, maintainable software architecture that the development team can realistically scope and deliver.
• Translate complex business and technical requirements into clear designs, and explain the reasoning and trade-offs to developers and non-technical stakeholders.
• Define and implement the AI strategy for Ajour, with the goal of having it in place within your first 6 month.
• Own the technical roadmap and measurably simplify Ajour's codebase and solution complexity using AI within your first year.
• Guide, coach and support developers from design through code review, and be a sparring partner to our Product Manager on feasibility, risk and scalability.
• Own the quality, security and performance of the architecture, and lead architectural reviews that keep decisions documented and accessible.

Must-have

• Strong understanding of, and genuine curiosity about, AI, with a track record of using it actively in your daily engineering work and applying it to real engineering problems.
• Solid experience in software design, development and architecture.
• Experience solving problems with significant data complexity.
• A degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field, or equivalent hands-on experience.
• Strong communication skills: you make complexity understandable for developers, product management and other stakeholders.
• Genuine interest in coaching and mentoring developers, and in building solutions together rather than over their heads.
• Commercial awareness: an instinct for how architectural choices affect customer value and time-to-value.
• Motivation to work in an international team.
• You can speak and write both Danish and English fluently.

Nice to have

• Experience working in Agile/Scrum teams
• Familiarity with modern DevOps, CI/CD and observability practices
