Job summary

Boyum IT Solutions in Aarhus is seeking an AI Engineer who enjoys turning AI into reliable software used in real-world scenarios. You’ll build AI-powered applications, services and tools that help colleagues and customers.

You’ll work on backend APIs, LLM-powered workflows, data pipelines, and deployments in Azure with Docker and CI/CD. We value hands-on engineers who can ship practical solutions and collaborate with product teams across our unified platform services.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of software development experience.
• Experience building production services or APIs – ideally AI-related.
• Hands-on experience building AI-powered applications or integrating AI into software.
• A solid understanding of databases, testing, and maintainable software.
• Curiosity about where AI genuinely adds value, and where it doesn’t.
• The ability to work with both technical and non-technical colleagues to understand a problem before jumping to a solution.

Job description

We’re looking for an AI Engineer who enjoys building useful software and wants to do more than experiment with AI, someone who can turn it into reliable solutions that people actually use.

At Boyum IT, we’re exploring how AI can make a real difference across our products and the way we work internally. That might mean building an assistant that helps colleagues find the right information faster, supporting our customer-facing teams with smarter tools, or connecting AI capabilities with our existing products and systems.

This is a practical, hands-on engineering role. You’ll have space to explore new ideas, but the goal is always the same: build something useful, reliable, and ready for the real world.

You don’t need to know every technology in our stack from day one. We’re looking for a strong software engineer who already has some hands-on experience with AI and wants to go deeper.

Location: Aarhus, Denmark - regular office presence is required.

About the Team: We call ourselves the "Unified Platform Services" team and work across products and development teams to build shared solutions and make individual product teams more effective. We also help shape how AI is used across our different products. We are a small team with a mix of skills across AI, DevOps, and traditional software development.

What You Will Be Doing

As our new AI engineer colleague, you will be assigned to specific AI projects and deliveries, but you’ll also share what you learn and help other development teams make effective use of AI tools. As part of these two focus areas, you will:

What We Are Looking For

We think you’ll be a good match if you have:

• At least 3+ years of software development experience, ideally in backend or software engineering
• Experience building production services or APIs – ideally AI-related ones
• Hands-on experience building AI-powered applications or integrating AI into software
• A solid understanding of databases, testing, and maintainable software
• Curiosity about where AI genuinely adds value, and where it doesn’t
• The ability to work with both technical and non-technical colleagues to understand a problem before jumping to a solution

Nice to Have

Experience with any of the following is a bonus, not a checklist:

• C#
• Azure or another cloud platform
• Docker, DevOps, and CI/CD
• RAG, embeddings, vector databases, or AI agents
