Job summary

Scan Con Construction ApS is seeking Ship Hull Fitters // Ship Plate Fitters // Platers for work in Danish shipyards, on Reparation and New Build departments. Responsibilities include assembling hull sections, aligning components, cutting and shaping metal parts, welding and riveting as needed, and ensuring precise alignment using jigs and tools.

Candidates should be able to read blueprints and work from instructions.

Qualifications

• Fluent English required for communication with team and supervisors.
• High attention to detail and safety compliance.
• Ability to receive and follow instructions and communicate with co-workers.
• Able to read labels, safety warnings and guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Assemble and install ship hull sections according to blueprints and specifications.
• Align and secure structural parts to ensure a proper fit.
• Cut, shape and prepare metal components for assembly.
• Perform welding, bolting and riveting tasks as required.
• Locate and mark reference lines and assist with alignment in hull areas.
• Position parts in hull with assistance from riggers and use jacks or clamps.
• Mark drilling locations and secure temporary fasteners for welding.

Scan Con Construction ApS

We are looking for:

Ship Hull Fitters // Ship Plate Fitters //Platers

for marine industry in Denmark

Scan Con offers jobs at the Shipyards on Reparation and New Build Departments.

Key tasks:

• Assemble and install ship hull sections according to blueprints and specifications


• Align and secure structural parts to ensure a proper fit


• Cut, shape, and prepare metal components for assembly


• Perform welding, bolting, and riveting tasks as required


• Locates and marks reference lines; such as center, buttock, and frame lines


• Positions parts in hull of a Ship, assisted by rigger


• Aligns parts relation to each other using jacks, lever blocks, chain blocks, clips, wedges, etc.


• Marks location of holes to be drilled and installs temporary fasteners to hold parts in a place for welding or revising


• Install packing, gasket, liner, and structural accessories and members such as doors, hatches, brackets, and clips


• Tack and weld clips and brackets in place prior to permanent welding


• May prepare molds and templates for fabrication of non-standard parts


• May roll, bend flange, cut and shape plates, beams, and other heavy metal parts using shop machinery; such as plate roll, presses, bending brakes, and joggle machine


• Performs other duties as required

Skills:

• English - must be able to communicate in English

• Ability to read labels, safety warnings, and guidelines

Experience:

Experience is good to have but that's not necessary
