Job summary

On a 3‑year long project in Denmark! Our team of highly qualified professionals from Poland and Lithuania is growing, and we are looking to add experienced fitters to join our team.

Skills Required
  • Fitter: Minimum 5 years of experience as a fitter.
  • Welder: Experience welding with methods 135, 136, 138, 141.
  • Experience in assembly work:
    • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings (note: work may also be performed without drawings).
    • Capability to operate power tools, including angle grinders.
    • Experience working on ships is required – new sections.
    • Communicative level of English.
Certificates Required
  • Working environment and safety for welding and thermal cutting §17 from Denmark (formerly called §26 course). If you don’t have it, we can arrange for you to take an online course.
Responsibilities

Work on the ship and in the workshop. Assemble new ship sections on a ship. Prepare elements made of black steel. The ability to tack weld is a big advantage, as you will be asked to assist with these tasks. The job mainly involves preparing black steel parts and pipes for welding according to technical drawings and checking dimensions on the ship. Afterwards, welding the previously prepared elements.

On the first day, there will be a test to check your ability to read technical drawings and use your craftsmanship skills to position steel elements according to dimensions and at the correct angles. The next step will be a test to verify whether you can correctly set up the welding machine for the type of material.

You must work independently, keep your workplace tidy, and ensure your own safety as well as that of others.

Work Schedule
  • Day Shift: Monday to Saturday, 07:00 to 19:00.

Paid Hours: For each 12‑hour shift, you are paid 11.0 hours (1‑hour total break is unpaid).

Overtime Pay: Monday to Thursday you receive overtime pay after 7.5 hours of work. Friday is after 7.0 hours of work. On Saturday, Sunday and in the evening/night you receive a special supplement.

Income

Day shift

Your net salary every 4 weeks at full employment after deducting accommodation and food costs: 41,421 DKK (around 5,542 EUR).

Extra to the salary:

  • 14.0% flexible spending account (10% fritvalgskonto FVK, 4% SH)
  • 13.0% pension contribution after 2 months (11.0% VICOS and 2.0% employee).

Payroll every two weeks with an optional advance of up to 6,000 DKK (around 804 EUR / 3,483 PLN) after 12 days of work.

Living, Travel and Work Benefits

Accommodation: VICOS arranges accommodation near the workplace. A single room with internet and access to kitchen and bathroom costs 137 DKK/day (utilities included, around 18,33 EUR). Please note that the rent has already been deducted in the net salary calculation above.
