Job summary

JOE & THE JUICE in Copenhagen, Denmark, seeks an Internal Control Lead to oversee internal controls and SOX compliance across the organization. Reporting to the VP, External Reporting, Controlling and Tax, you’ll strengthen governance in a fast‑moving environment.

Ideal candidates have 10+ years in controls and audit (Big‑4 preferred) and hold CPA, CIA, CISA or equivalent certification. You will lead scoping, testing, remediation, and training.

Qualifications

• CPA, CIA, CISA, or equivalent certification strongly preferred.
• 10+ years of experience in internal controls, SOX compliance, and audit; Big-4 background and public company experience with quarterly reporting cadence is preferred.
• Demonstrated experience leading governance, compliance, or process improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Lead the company’s SOX 404 implementation program – scoping, risk assessment, control design, testing, and remediation.
• Oversee assessments, reviews, and testing of internal controls, risk management activities, and IT general controls (ITGCs).
• Monitor compliance-related activities and support remediation efforts as needed.
• Prepare summaries and reports for leadership on compliance and control matters.
• Develop and deliver training to strengthen control awareness and ownership across the business.
• Liaise with external auditors and coordinate SOX scoping, testing, and remediation of findings.
