JOB SUMMARY

We're seeking an experienced Internal Control Lead to join our team in Copenhagen, Denmark, overseeing and spearheading internal controls and SOX compliance initiatives across the organization. Reporting to the VP, External Reporting, Controlling and Tax, you'll work closely with stakeholders across multiple functions to strengthen processes, improve governance, and support a strong control environment. The ideal candidate combines SOX, internal controls, audit, and operational experience, balancing strategic thinking with hands‑on execution in a dynamic business environment. The position is a full-time role.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead the company's SOX 404 implementation program - scoping, risk assessment, control design, testing, and remediation - while driving process, workflow, and data management improvements.
• Oversee assessments, reviews, and testing of internal controls, risk management activities, and IT general controls (ITGCs), including key application controls supporting financial reporting systems.
• Monitor compliance-related activities, help maintain compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements, and support remediation efforts as needed.
• Prepare summaries, analyses, and reports for leadership regarding compliance and control matters.
• Develop and deliver training to strengthen control awareness and ownership across the business.
• Liaise with external auditors and coordinate SOX scoping, testing, and remediation of findings.

WHO YOU ARE

• CPA, CIA, CISA, or equivalent certification strongly preferred.
• 10+ years of experience in internal controls, SOX compliance, and audit - Big-4 background and public company experience with a quarterly reporting cadence are preferred.
• Demonstrated experience leading initiatives focused on governance, compliance, or process improvement.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING

• Experience operating in a complex or rapidly evolving business environment is preferred.
• Strong project management and process improvement capabilities.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with employees, internal teams, and external partners.
