SimCorp is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the Product Division. You will design and implement backend APIs with C#/.NET, contribute to cloud modernization and scalable services, and ensure high performance and testability.
You’ll work with AI-enabled features and CI/CD in a collaborative, agile team. The role emphasizes continuous improvement, learning new technologies including Dyalog APL, and close collaboration with product owners to deliver robust software for our investment
As our new Senior Software Engineer, you will join SimCorp's Product Division, a full-scale agile organization. You will be working in an agile team of about 5-7 people in the Portfolio Analysis Product Area. The team works on our SimCorp Dimension product and on capabilities used by investment professionals to understand portfolios, performance and risk. In your daily work you will, together with your team, understand and review customer requirements, discuss solutions, implement and test the chosen solution, and support it. We use a variety of tools, but the main ones are C#, Dyalog APL and Oracle database. You will mainly be working with backend components, APIs and services. The present and near future main topics are good maintainability, high system performance, continuous integration and delivery, and reshaping parts of our product for the cloud. We are not modernizing for the sake of fashion. We are doing it because our products are business critical, widely used and need to keep evolving in a careful way. AI is part of how we work every day. We use AI every day and see it as a natural part of modern software engineering, alongside source control, testing, CI/CD and code reviews. We actively look for ways to integrate AI into our work whenever it creates real benefit for our customers, products, teams or engineers. AI does not replace engineering judgment. It helps good engineers learn faster, reduce repetitive work, explore alternatives and build better software. In addition to implementing customer features, it is essential for us to continuously improve on all levels: company, division, product area, team and individual. We encourage personal development, curiosity and experimentation. Every sixth sprint is reserved for planning, innovation, learning and improvements, giving you regular opportunities to explore new technologies, improve something important, or try out ideas that may benefit you, your team or the application.
We believe good software engineering is a team activity. Quality is not something handed over at the end. It is built into the way we discuss requirements, design solutions, write code, test, review, deploy and learn from production feedback. We also believe senior engineers should have room to think. We do not expect you to chase every trend. We expect to apply sound engineering judgment, use modern practices where they help, and help us evolve a large and widely used product in a way that is sustainable for clients, users and engineers. AI is one of the modern practices we take seriously. We do not view AI as a separate area of engineering. We view it as another tool in the engineering toolbox. Just as we continuously adopted better testing, automation and cloud technologies, we expect AI to become a natural part of how we design, build, document, test, maintain and improve software.
