Norlys Energy Trading A/S is seeking a senior software engineer to lead the design and development of a platform that registers and manages client products and contracts. You’ll translate complex business requirements into scalable solutions for internal and external users, collaborating with business and development teams across Norlys Energy Trading.

You’ll guide architecture, promote data consistency and availability, and mentor developers while maintaining security and compliance standards

Qualifications

• A master’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science or a related field.
• Five+ years of experience building cloud software services.
• Experience with distributed systems, databases and event-driven architecture.
• Strong grasp of API design, design patterns and testing, with a track record of delivering scalable APIs.
• Hands-on experience with C#/.NET, or willingness to move to C#/.NET; fluent English.

Build and run the platform that manages client products and contracts - from design to daily operation.

The team

Commercial Solutions Development builds and maintains the platform used to book and manage client products and contracts. The team delivers data products to downstream clients, helping operations scale and shaping how we manage our client portfolio.

You’ll work with business specialists and software developers across Norlys Energy Trading, building systems that deliver sustainable commercial value where reliability, data consistency and maintainability are essential.

The role

You’ll lead the design and development of our platform for registering and managing client products and contracts. In close collaboration with the business, you’ll turn a complex domain into scalable solutions for internal and external users.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Designing and developing the systems that support contract and product management
• Helping define and run how our services operate day to day, including monitoring, troubleshooting, documentation and incident resolution
• Ensuring high data consistency and availability across systems
• Mentoring developers through code reviews, knowledge sharing and technical sparring
• Shaping a productive team culture and continuously improving how we work
• Setting and following security, compliance and data-handling standards in the software we build and operate

What we are looking for

You have a track record of translating complex business requirements into well-designed software and experience maintaining software systems at scale. You communicate clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders and are comfortable giving and receiving feedback.

Must-have qualifications

• A master’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science or a related field
• At least five years of experience building cloud software services
• Experience with distributed systems, databases and event-driven architecture
• A strong grasp of API design, design patterns and testing, with a track record of delivering scalable APIs
• Hands-on experience with C#/.NET, or deep experience in another stack and a willingness to move to C#/.NET
• Fluent English

Nice-to-have qualifications

• Experience with RabbitMQ, Microsoft Azure and relational database management systems such as SQL Server
• Experience using Grafana for logging, tracing, and metrics
• Database optimisation, data modelling and zero-downtime schema migrations
• A structured approach to AI-assisted development with tools such as Claude Code or Codex
• Fluent Danish
