Job summary

Nitor Energy in Aarhus is seeking a Student Software Developer to join our trading‑focused software team. You’ll work on internal systems, dashboards, and tools used by traders and analysts, gaining hands‑on responsibility early.

You’ll collaborate with experienced developers, learn the energy trading domain, and have the chance to grow into a full‑time role. The role offers close mentoring, a modern office by the Dokk1 area and opportunities to experiment with AI‑assisted development.

Qualifications

• Pursuing CS/SE degree with <=1 year remaining.
• Strong programming fundamentals.
• Exposure to C#/.NET/ASP.NET Core, TypeScript/React, SQL, Azure or Python; willingness to learn.
• Good communication, openness, and feedback willingness.
• Taking responsibility for tasks and improving processes.

Responsibilities

• Build and improve internal trading systems, dashboards and alerts alongside experienced developers.
• Integrate, process and make market data available from external vendors.
• Tackle well-scoped development tasks from requirements to deployment.
• Collaborate with traders and analysts to understand workflows and gather feedback.
• Learn to build reliable, maintainable software with proper data models and operations.
• Explore AI-assisted development tools with responsible verification.

You’ll get meaningful responsibility early, support from experienced developers and hands‑on exposure to a fast‑moving business, with the opportunity to grow into a full‑time role.

As a student, you’ll be part of these conversations, learning to ask good questions, test ideas, get feedback quickly and see the impact of your work.

What you’ll be doing

• Build and improve internal trading systems, analytical tools, dashboards and alerts alongside experienced developers.
• Integrate, process and make market data available from external vendors.
• Take on well‑scoped development tasks, from understanding requirements to implementation, testing, review and deployment.
• Work directly with traders and analysts to understand their workflows, gather feedback and iterate on solutions.
• Learn what it takes to build reliable, maintainable software – including shared data models, traceability, performance and system operations.
• Explore approved AI‑assisted development tools responsibly and verify the code and outputs you use.

What we’re looking for

• You’re studying for a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field, with no more than a year remaining, and are interested in a potential full‑time future at Nitor.
• You have good programming fundamentals and a practical, curious approach to solving problems.
• You’ve had exposure to some of our stack – C# (.NET/ASP.NET Core), TypeScript/React, Microsoft SQL, Azure or Python – or are motivated to learn it. You don’t need experience with all of them.
• You enjoy working with others, communicate openly, ask for help when needed and learn from feedback.
• You take responsibility for your tasks, follow through and look for ways to make things better.
