As our business continues to grow across Europe and North America, we are strengthening our capabilities within machine safety and compliance and are looking for an experienced Senior Safety & Compliance Engineer.
This newly established position offers significant influence across the organization. You will become our internal subject matter expert within machine safety and compliance, ensuring that safety requirements are effectively integrated into projects and business processes.
As Senior Safety & Compliance Engineer, you will be responsible for driving machine safety and compliance activities throughout the project lifecycle, from concept and design to commissioning and customer acceptance.
You will work closely with Engineering, Project Management, Commissioning, Service teams, customers, and external stakeholders to ensure compliance with applicable regulations and industry standards.
The position includes approximately 15-20 travel days per year, primarily related to customer meetings, project activities, factory and site acceptance testing, and commissioning support.
Experience with TÜV Functional Safety Engineer, TÜV Machinery Safety Expert, CMSE, or similar certifications is considered an advantage.
Knowledge of the EU Machinery Regulation (EU 2023/1230), IEC 62443, and related machine safety or automation certifications is highly valued. As an increasing number of our projects are delivered to North America, experience with U.S. regulations and standards is highly desirable, including OSHA requirements, NFPA 79, ANSI B11 standards, UL standards and certified components, North American approval, documentation, and customer acceptance processes. Experience working with Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) is also an advantage.
You hold a degree in Engineering, Automation, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field, combined with at least 5-10 years of experience within machine safety, functional safety, or compliance engineering.
You combine strong technical expertise with the credibility and confidence to influence decisions across a complex project organization. You are comfortable challenging solutions when safety requirements are at stake and thrive in a role where you can take ownership, drive initiatives, and lead through expertise.
You are proactive, analytical, and self-driven, with strong communication skills and the ability to build trust across all levels of the organization. Most importantly, you understand how to balance compliance requirements with practical business needs while maintaining a strong customer focus.
