Job description

At Lunar, we are democratizing the power of money and changing the way we all bank, pay, and invest. Since starting in Aarhus in 2015, we've grown rapidly and are now a major player in the Nordics, with offices in Copenhagen, Aarhus, and Stockholm

So, who are we? Are we a tech company or a bank? Well, we're both breaking free from the usual categories. At Lunar, tech isn't just a cool add-on; it's the core of how we do things. With our own banking license, we go head-to-head with traditional banks. What sets us apart is the mix of tech and financial services, giving us the power to shake up a dusty industry that's ready for a change.

We’re looking for a strategic thinker and hands‑on doer to shape the future of how we reward, recognize, and motivate our people at Lunar.

As part of the People & Culture team, you’ll take the lead on our rewards - creating and running comp & benefits programs that keep things fair, competitive, and aligned with the business and our goals.

This is an individual contributor role for someone who loves influencing through ideas and action. With a “People Product” mindset, you’ll spot opportunities, design smart solutions, and make them real—all while keeping both employee experience and business needs in perfect balance.

What will you do?
  • Lead our reward programs: Run existing schemes (like commission and warrants) and contribute to designing and rolling out new initiatives that align with company strategy and meet regulatory standards.
  • Benchmark and govern: Keep external benchmarks and pay bands fresh and competitive. Define and uphold clear reward principles that ensure transparency, consistency, and compliance.
  • Deliver operational excellence: Manage payroll inputs, vendors, and reward policies. Ensure everything meets legal and audit requirements (e.g., EU Pay Transparency Directive).
  • Be a trusted partner: Work closely with the Chief People & Culture Officer, People Partners, Finance, and leaders to design, manage, and communicate reward programs that build trust and confidence.
  • Turn insights into action: Use people analytics and reporting to guide leaders and the Board on workforce planning, pay equity, and organizational investments. Build dashboards and metrics that highlight impact and opportunities.
  • Lead the annual reward cycle: Drive the salary review and pay band updates, making sure they’re fair, competitive, and consistent. Take ownership of our comp systems and keep them efficient, scalable, and easy to use.
What are we looking for in you?
  • Reward expertise: Experience building and running compensation and benefits strategies, policies, and processes.
  • Proven delivery: Hands‑on track record designing and executing salary reviews, pay frameworks, incentive programs, and benefits.
  • Builder mindset: Just as comfortable shaping strategy as rolling up your sleeves to make it happen.
  • Data fluency: Strong analytical skills, with the ability to turn data into insights, decisions, and clear communication for leaders and employees.
  • Tech‑savvy: Familiarity with compensation systems and HR tools, and confidence in owning and improving them.
  • Product thinking: A balanced approach to reward that considers employees, market trends, compliance, and business goals.
