Job summary

OODALOOP Technologies in Odense, Denmark, seeks a Senior Mechanical Engineer to drive the mechanical design of UAV systems, owning architecture and prototypes from concept to production.

Senior Mechanical Engineer(UAV, Drones)

Location: Odense, Denmark

Come work with us on the most urgent topic for European security and resilience as we build drone technology at scale for thedefenceof Europe.

Employment requires that the employee must be able to obtain a security clearance by the Danish Defense Intelligence Service. This entails, among others, that the employee's full household, as a minimum, has stayed within NATO/EU countries for the last 7 years, only interrupted by short stays abroad, and that none of the full household members has committed serious criminal offences.

The Senior Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for a significant portion of the mechanical design in the company, including architectural ownership, lifecycle oversight, design, manufacturing of prototypes and handing over to production.

Responsibilities:

• Actively contribute to the design of new products and improvements to existing.
• Define new concepts, iterate on ideas, and maintain development plans.
• Generate well-defined tasks for colleagues, students, assistants, consultants, and contractors.
• Take ownership and responsibility for a subset of products and drive it forward.

Requirements:

• True passion for your craft and tools: CAD/FEA, materials science, manufacturing technologies, related theory and mathematics.
• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or similar.
• 5+ years of experience working in aerospace, defense, automotive, or other related fields.
• Demonstrated experience working with complex multidisciplinary projects.
• Hands-on experience building/fixing prototypes or other mechanical systems. Not afraid of getting hands dirty, feels home in the workshop.
• Experience in design for mass production, including Design for Manufacture (DFM), Design for Assembly (DFA), and cost optimization initiatives.
• Eligibility to work on defense-related projects; security clearance required.

• Some exposure orpreviousexperience working with UAV/FPV, Drones, Robots, etc.
