Job summary

X Commodities, an independent power trading company based in Aarhus C, Denmark, seeks an experienced Intraday Power Trader to own intraday positions from day one and optimise trading across European markets.

You will work in a fast-moving environment, monitoring signals and data, collaborating with the trading desk, and contributing to strategy development. The role requires a quantitative background and fluency in Danish and English.

Qualifications

• Background in Finance, Economics, Engineering, Mathematics or similar quantitative field.
• 2–3 years of intraday power trading experience in Europe.
• Proven track record of P&L ownership.
• Part of a 24/7/365 shift setup.
• Fluency in Danish and English.

X Commodities is an independent power trading company based in Aarhus C, Denmark, focused on day-ahead and intraday power markets. We combine market insight, disciplined execution and a technology-driven approach to navigate short-term trading opportunities across a growing footprint of Northern and Western European power markets.

We are now looking for an experienced Intraday Power Trader to join our team and take ownership of intraday positions from day one.

About the role

As an Intraday Power Trader, you will be responsible for optimising our intraday power positions across our active markets, reacting to real-time price signals, weather shifts and market data to identify and act on short-term opportunities. You will work closely with colleagues across the trading desk, using data and automation to stay efficient in a fast-moving market.

Your responsibilities

• Trade and optimise intraday power positions across our European markets
• Monitor market fundamentals, weather data, and trading signals to support decision-making
• Identify and act on short-term trading opportunities in auction and continuous markets
• Contribute to the ongoing development of our trading strategies and tools
• Collaborate closely with colleagues across the team

What we’re looking for

• A background in Finance, Economics, Engineering, Mathematics or a similar quantitative field
• Experience trading intraday power in Europe, ideally 2-3 years
• A proven track record of P&L ownership
• You are part of our 24/7/365 shift setup
• A natural instinct for risk and reward, sharpened by fast-moving environments — whether that’s trading, sports betting or poker
• Strong analytical skills and comfort working with data under time pressure
• A structured, decisive mindset and the ability to make sound decisions quickly
• A collaborative team player who takes ownership of their work
• Fluency in Danish and English, written and spoken
