Job summary

FLSmidth A/S in Copenhagen, Denmark, seeks a Senior External & Executive Communications Manager to own the global external communications strategy and support the ELT with high-impact internal messaging.

You will be a trusted advisor to senior leadership and collaborate with regional leaders, marketing, branding, IR, HR, and business stakeholders to strengthen the company’s reputation and visibility.

Qualifications

• BS/BA Degree in communications, journalism, public relations, or related field.
• 5+ years of external/corporate communications experience, preferably in a global B2B organization.
• Experience in executive communications and working with senior leadership.
• Proven expertise in media relations, corporate messaging, and reputation management.
• Experience in developing communication strategies across multiple channels.
• Able to translate complex technical topics into clear messages.
• Experience in international, matrix organizations with cross-functional collaboration.
• Strong understanding of digital platforms and content strategies.
• Excellent command of English, fluent in writing and speaking.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute the global external communications strategy aligned with business priorities.
• Shape and deliver clear corporate messaging across external channels.
• Lead media relations, including press releases, media outreach, and spokesperson preparation.
• Support crisis communications and reputation management with senior leadership.
• Develop executive communication materials including speeches, presentations, key messages, and talking points.
• Partner with the Executive Leadership Team to support internal communications such as town halls and strategic announcements.
• Ensure alignment between internal and external messaging across all communications activities.
• Drive storytelling initiatives that strengthen brand positioning and communicate company strategy, innovation, and impact.
• Collaborate with marketing and digital teams to amplify key campaigns and corporate narratives.
• Provide strategic counsel to senior leaders on communication risks, opportunities, and positioning.
• Support change management communications during transformation initiatives.
• Monitor and analyze media coverage and provide actionable insights.
• Manage external agencies and partners where required to support communication initiatives.
• Ensure adherence to brand, tone of voice, and corporate communication standards.
