Job summary

COWI in Lyngby, Denmark, seeks a Senior Legal Counsel to join our Group Legal team. You will lead day-to-day legal support for Denmark and global projects, structuring and negotiating consultancy, framework, and joint venture agreements while providing practical, commercially focused advice.

You will handle contract management, claims, and risk mitigation on large construction projects, advise on disputes, and support M&A activities.

Qualifications

Extensive experience reviewing and negotiating contracts (ABR 18, AB 18, FIDIC).
Strong drafting and communication skills in Danish and English.
Experience with international projects and risk management.

Responsibilities

Provide day-to-day legal advice to senior management and project teams in Denmark and internationally.
Structure, draft and negotiate consultancy, framework, JV, and MOUs and other commercial contracts.
Advise on contract management, claims handling, and risk mitigation.
Review and negotiate contracts for large construction and infrastructure projects, including ABR 18, AB 18 and FIDIC terms.
Support ongoing projects through their lifecycle with practical legal guidance.
Advise on disputes and settlement negotiations; coordinate external counsel when needed.
Train and guide line managers on legal matters, including procurement, competition law, IP and data protection.
Support corporate housekeeping and advise on legal compliance and M&A activities.
