Job summary

BWSC in Allerød, Denmark seeks a Senior Legal Counsel to join our legal team. You will provide strategic legal guidance across business units, ensure compliance with laws and regulations, and support corporate governance at BWSC.

You will draft, review and negotiate contracts, manage risk and disputes, lead cross-border transactions, coordinate with external counsel, monitor regulatory developments, and educate internal teams on legal matters to protect the company’s interests.

Qualifications

• Danish Master of Laws degree or equivalent.
• Strong understanding of Danish law and international frameworks, with cross-border experience.
• Fluent in Danish and English (written and spoken).
• At least 5 years of legal experience, preferably in-house or in a law firm.
• Excellent drafting and negotiation skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks and priorities.
• Professionalism, integrity, and collaboration with management and external partners.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert legal advice on contract law, commercial transactions, corporate governance, company law and dispute resolution.
• Draft, review, and negotiate contracts and agreements critical to projects and partnerships.
• Identify and mitigate legal risks through risk assessments and strategic guidance.
• Support corporate governance, ensuring compliance with local and international regulations and policies.
• Collaborate with external legal counsel on specialized issues and complex cases.

The position

As Senior Legal Counsel, you will be part of BWSC’s legal team and report directly to the General Counsel. You will work closely with management and key stakeholders across the organization, providing legal advice that supports BWSC’s commercial activities, corporate governance and strategic priorities.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Providing expert legal adviceon a wide range of topics, including contract law, commercial transactions, corporate governance, company law, and dispute resolution.
• Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contractsand agreements that are critical to our projects, partnerships, and business operations.
• Identifying and mitigating legal risksby conducting thorough risk assessments and advising on effective strategies.
• Supporting corporate governance efforts, ensuring compliance with local and international regulations, company policies, and corporate structures.
• Collaborating with external legal counselon specialized legal issues and complex cases.
• Staying ahead of legal developmentsby monitoring relevant legislation, industry regulations, and trends to ensure BWSC’s compliance.
• Managing dispute resolution processes, including litigation and arbitration, to protect the company’s interests.
• Educating internal teamson legal matters, such as contract management, compliance, and corporate policies, to foster a culture of legal awareness.

The ideal candidate thrives in an international environment, works independently and has the following background and experience:

• Holds a Danish Master of Laws degree or equivalent legal qualification.
• Possesses a strong understanding of Danish law and relevant international legal frameworks, with experience in cross-border transactions and dispute resolution.
• Is fluent in Danish and English, both written and spoken.
• Has at least 5 years of legal experience, preferably in-house or with a law firm, specializing in commercial contracts, corporate law, or the energy/industrial sector.
• Demonstrates excellent drafting and negotiation skills with attention to detail.
• Exhibits strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Can work independently, manage multiple tasks, and prioritize effectively.
• Shows a high degree of professionalism, integrity, and the ability to collaborate with management, clients, and external partners.
