Job summary

International M&E Contractor in Fredericia, Denmark, seeks a Senior Electrical Engineer for a major data centre project. The role covers design, on-site installation, testing, commissioning and handover, with close collaboration with PM, design, BIM, supply chain and construction teams.

Requirements include 7+ years in project engineering, a degree in Electrical/Building Services Engineering, and proven LV/MV experience. Amtech, Dialux or AutoCAD skills are advantageous.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Complete electrical design reviews and identify design gaps and issues.
• Validate cable sizing and make technical recommendations.
• Prepare electrical submittals through the approvals process.
• Track procurement and verify receipt of electrical equipment.
• Coordinate with the supply chain to maintain progress against the construction programme.
• Manage electrical system trackers aligned with the construction schedule.
• Work with the BIM team to review constructability and space requirements.

This international M&E contractor delivers major engineering projects across Ireland, the UK and Europe, with a significant pipeline of work in the European data centre sector.

They are looking for an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to join the engineering team on a major data centre project in Fredericia, Denmark, with further opportunities available across their European project pipeline.

The Role: Senior Electrical Engineer

As Senior Electrical Engineer, you will take responsibility for engineering activities across the data centre project, coordinating technical design with the on-site electrical installation through to testing, commissioning and handover.

Working closely with the Project Manager, design team, BIM team, supply chain and construction teams, you will resolve technical issues, manage electrical submittals and ensure LV and MV systems are delivered in line with the project design, programme and specifications.

Must Have Requirements

• Must have 7+ years’ project engineering experience, ideally within a construction environment.
• Third-level qualification in Electrical Engineering, Building Services Engineering or a related discipline required.
• Strong experience with LV and MV electrical systems required.
• Proven experience delivering electrical projects within data centre, commercial, industrial or pharmaceutical environments required.

Preferred Experience

• Previous data centre project experience strongly preferred.
• Experience with Amtech, Dialux, AutoCAD 2D, Adobe Pro and MS Office beneficial.
• Knowledge of relevant electrical regulations, EN Standards, IEC Standards and design requirements advantageous.

Key Responsibilities

• Complete electrical design reviews and identify design gaps, deviations and technical issues.
• Validate cable sizing and make technical recommendations where required.
• Prepare and manage electrical technical submittals through the approvals process.
• Track procurement and delivery of electrical equipment and complete receipt verification.
• Coordinate with the supply chain to maintain progress against the construction programme.
• Maintain electrical system trackers aligned with the construction schedule.
• Work with the BIM team to review constructability, coordination and space requirements.
• Coordinate with the design team, vendors and supply chain through installation and commissioning.
• Complete electrical system walk-downs against specifications and drawings.
• Compile test packs, FTOPs and O&M documentation for approval.
• Manage specialist vendors through the commissioning process.
• Lead electrical engineering and design management activities across the project.
• Develop technical solutions in conjunction with clients and project engineers.
• Support pre-construction engineering, design development and services coordination.
• Provide technical support to construction, procurement, commercial and project teams.
• Provide guidance and mentoring to junior engineers and graduates.

About You

You will be an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer with a strong technical background across LV and MV electrical systems and major construction projects.

You should be comfortable moving between design coordination and site delivery, working directly with clients, vendors, subcontractors and construction teams to resolve technical issues and keep electrical packages moving against programme.
