Turner & Townsend is seeking a Senior Electrical Construction Project Manager to oversee the pre-construction, construction, commissioning, and close-out phases of a hyperscale data center project onsite in Fredericia, Denmark.

This role centers on electrical systems and engineering, with on-site leadership, a strong focus on safety, quality, and client satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical pre-construction activities, including constructability, procurement and contracts, planning, and budget delivery on time.
• Lead electrical construction activities to deliver on time, within budget, to high quality standards.
• Oversee electrical system installations: substation, transformers, switchrooms, MV & LV, life safety, and all related systems.
• Ensure electrical designs align with design intent and client expectations, managing design-construction issues.
• Manage on-site health and safety and supervise electrical subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers.
• Oversee commissioning: ensure systems are fully operational and meet performance criteria.

Job Description

Turner & Townsend is looking for a Senior Electrical Construction Project Manager to oversee the pre-construction, construction, commissioning, and close-out phases of a hyperscale, state of the art data center project for a global technology client onsite in Fredericia, Denmark.

This role is key in ensuring the successful delivery of a state-of-the-art facility, with a focus on electrical systems and engineering.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the electrical pre-construction activities, including constructability in design, procurement and contracts, project planning, budget planning is delivered on time and to the highest quality standards.
• Lead and manage the electrical construction activities, ensuring the project is delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
• Oversee electrical system installations, including substation, transformers, switchrooms, MV & LV, life safety and all electrical associated systems.
• Ensure that the electrical designs are aligned with the overall design intent and client expectations, managing any issues that arise during construction.

Pre-Construction Phase Oversight

• Oversee and assist the design team in constructability and localization in the design focusing mainly on the electrical systems but assist and collaboration with other disciplines.
• Ensure compliance with building codes, regulations, and safety protocols are adhered to.
• Provide technical guidance on electrical system installations, ensuring that contract documents and specifications are relevant to the region.
• Play a pivotal role in the procurement of contractors and vendor.

Construction Phase Oversight

• Manage and supervise electrical subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers, ensuring that work is completed to specification and safety standards.
• Full-time on-site presence to conduct inspections and supervise construction activities.
• Ensure construction activities are in full compliance with building codes, regulations, and safety protocols.
• Provide technical guidance and troubleshooting on electrical system installations, ensuring that all work is completed as per the contract documents and specifications.
• Manage health and safety on site.

Commissioning & Handover

• Oversee the commissioning process of electrical systems to ensure all systems are fully operational and meet performance criteria.
• Lead the electrical system testing and commissioning process, ensuring all relevant documentation (test reports, as-builts, O&M manuals) are accurate and handed over to the client.
• Assist in the final project closeout and ensure the electrical systems are handed over seamlessly to the client.

Owner’s Representation

• Act as the primary point of contact between the client and the construction team for electrical-related issues.
• Provide advice and recommendations to the client, ensuring their interests are protected throughout the project lifecycle.
• Proactively identify and manage risks related to electrical systems and recommend mitigation strategies.

Quality Control & Compliance

• Ensure all electrical work adheres to quality standards and local regulations.
• Review and approve subcontractor invoices and work schedules.
• Conduct site safety audits and ensure that work is being performed in compliance with all health and safety standards.

Budget & Schedule Management

• Monitor and report on the progress of electrical work against the project schedule and budget.
• Track project costs, identifying and addressing cost overruns or delays.
• Ensure that changes in scope are managed efficiently, with appropriate documentation and approval processes in place.
