Job summary

Demant seeks a Senior Discovery Engineer in acoustics and DSP to explore new ideas and drive prototype development for next-gen hearing solutions. You will work within Discovery, collaborating with R&D to turn concepts into measurable experiments and validated demonstrations.

The role emphasizes cross-disciplinary thinking, hands-on prototyping, and communication with stakeholders across the organization. Based at Demant's Smørum HQ with some remote work flexibility.

Qualifications

• MSc or PhD in electroacoustics/acoustics/electrical engineering/applied signal processing or comparable field.
• 3–5 years of experience with audio technology, preferably hearing aids or hearables.
• Ability to collaborate across disciplines and understand system-wide impact.
• Hands-on DSP: algorithm development, real-time implementation, measurement.

Responsibilities

• Scout new ideas and emerging technologies for future hearing solutions.
• Join Discovery projects as the technical engine, building prototypes and experiments.
• Plan/execute technical experiments and participate in user tests and validation.
• Assess cross-disciplinary consequences for transducers, acoustics, power and UX.
• Present concepts/results to audiences from management to engineers.
