Demant seeks a DSP Engineer to shape hearing aid technology by developing and optimizing real-time DSP algorithms for embedded products. You will work within a cross-functional SAFe Scrum team, balancing sound quality, performance, and power while collaborating with audiologists and engineers.

The role emphasizes hands-on development, documentation, and active contribution to system design within a hybrid work model with on-site presence required initially.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Electrical, Electronic, Biomedical or Software Engineering, Computer Science, or similar.
• 3–5 years of experience in DSP and real-time audio processing.
• Proficiency in MATLAB and/or Python.

DSP Engineer – Shaping the Future of Hearing Aids

Be part of a great SAFe Scrum team

You’ll join a cross-functional SAFe Scrum team within an Agile Release Train, working at the intersection of advanced DSP, hearing science, and real-world user experience.

The team consist of seven colleagues with different international backgrounds focusing on the foundational audiology algorithms at the core of our hearing instruments. Your work will directly influence how our users hear their world, making sound more natural, less tiring and more meaningful for people with hearing loss.

We all have a strong technical foundation, a genuine curiosity, and a willingness to contribute to the future hearing aids while we help and share our ideas with each other.

Our work does not limit us to working solely within our team. We also work as a cross-collaborative function coordinating between many different Scrum teams making teamwork great.

What You’ll Do

• Contribute to the development of next-generation hearing aid technology and device software.
• Develop and optimise DSP algorithms and audiological features for real-time embedded products.
• Take DSP concepts from early development and simulation through implementation, testing and product validation.
• Contribute to system design and technical decision-making, balancing sound quality, performance, power and other device constraints.
• Document your work clearly, from early concepts through to feature descriptions, and help keep our tools, workflows, and onboarding materials in good shape.

Throughout, you’ll keep the end user at the center of your decisions, working closely with Audiologists, Embedded Software Engineers, Test Specialists, and Product Owners.

The job is performed in Demant’s headquarters with possibility to work from home up to two days per week when up and running and when it fits in with the team's work. Expected start date is 1st of December 2026. It is a requirement that you can start onsite from day one.

Who You Are

You are an engineer with a strong DSP foundation and a keen interest in hearing science and audio processing. You enjoy solving complex technical challenges in collaboration with others and understand that great DSP combines technical excellence with a deep understanding of the user experience.

On the technical side you have:

• A master’s degree or equivalent in Electrical, Electronic, Biomedical or Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a similar field.
• 3-5 years of experience in DSP and real-time audio processing.
• Proficiency in MATLAB and/or Python.
• Interest in any of the following areas: hearing science, psychoacoustics, and/or auditory modelling - and a desire to deepen your knowledge more in these areas.

• Adapt to changing priorities and continuously develop your skills and expertise.
• Take ownership of your work, identify issues early, and drive solutions aligned with team goals.
