ZeroNorth in Copenhagen is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to build a data platform for next‑gen maritime operations. You will design data models, resilient pipelines, and high-performance APIs to power agentic workflows and data products.

We value creative systems thinking, ownership, and a bias for delivering complete, fresh data with clear provenance. Strong Python/SQL skills on AWS and Snowflake are essential.

Qualifications

• A degree in computer science or equivalent depth.
• 5+ years delivering production data systems.
• Strong intuition for performance, scalability, and cost trade-offs.
• Nice to have maritime knowledge, model training, geospatial experience.

Responsibilities

• Data modelling: Rigorous entity and relational modelling with normalisation and denormalised serving layer.
• Resilient pipelines at scale: Batch and streaming design with orchestration, idempotency, backfills, and late-arriving data.
• High-performance APIs: Design a serving layer with low latency, proven contracts, and data provenance.
• Applied mathematics and analysis: Time series, interpolation, uncertainty, and ML concepts familiarity.
• Provider sourcing and evaluation: Assess external data providers for coverage, latency, licensing, and cost.
• Customer value and product collaboration: Work with product teams on scope and sequencing.
• Agentic ways of working: Use of agentic tooling and documentation.
