Job summary

Clinical Ink in Denmark and the United States is seeking a Sr.Backend Engineer to own a service end-to-end—design, implementation, tests, and production readiness. You will build backend services in our Python stack, craft APIs, data models, migrations, and integrations, and mentor engineers.

You will focus on reliability, observability, SLOs, and on-call readiness, using Terraform/AWS and AI coding agents while upholding privacy and healthcare data standards.

Qualifications

• Experience owning features end-to-end.
• Production-grade backend with testing and observability.
• Healthcare data familiarity (FHIR) or SaMD is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design and build backend services in Python: APIs, data models, migrations.
• Own domain end-to-end—from design to production-ready code.
• Build and harden third-party integrations (wearables, clinical data): OAuth, webhooks, retries.
• Own your domain’s reliability: metrics, traces, logs, SLOs, on-call readiness.
• Mentor mid-level engineers and promote coding best practices.
• Leverage AI coding agents with proper verification and judgment.
