Job summary

Whiteaway Group in Aarhus seeks a Senior Backend Engineer to build scalable, event-driven microservices in a cloud-native AWS environment. You will join one autonomous squad shaping core backend services powering Denmark and Scandinavia's leading e-commerce platform.

You will use Node.js/TypeScript, mentor peers, collaborate with product, DevOps, and other engineers, and focus on performance, security, and observability.

Qualifications

• Strong backend engineering fundamentals.
• Experience with scalable backend systems.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (preferably AWS).
• Hands-on with microservices and event-driven architecture.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain TypeScript/Node.js microservices in AWS.
• Lead architectural decisions for backend platform using DDD and event-driven patterns.
• Collaborate with product, DevOps, and other engineers to deliver reliable, maintainable systems.
• Ensure performance, security, and observability are built-in.
• Mentor peers through pairing and code reviews.
