Job summary

Whiteaway Group is hiring a Senior Backend Engineer for their Aarhus tech HQ. You will design, implement, and scale mission-critical backend systems using Node.js/TypeScript in a cloud-native AWS environment, leading architectural decisions and collaborating across squads.

Bring strong backend expertise, a habit of mentoring others, and a passion for delivery, observability, and security in high-traffic e-commerce tech.

Qualifications

Solid backend experience with scalable systems and event-driven patterns.
Strong knowledge of architecture, DDD, and RESTful/async APIs.
Cloud exposure (preferably AWS) and containerization with Docker/Kubernetes.
Willingness to grow with Node.js/TypeScript if not already senior in this stack.
Experience mentoring peers and working in agile teams.

Responsibilities

Design, implement, and maintain microservices in a cloud-native AWS environment.
Lead architectural decisions and shape the backend platform using DDD and event-driven patterns.
Collaborate with product, developers, and DevOps to deliver reliable systems.
Ensure performance, security, and observability as core requirements.
Mentor teammates through pairing, MOB programming, and code reviews.
