Job summary

Usercentrics’ Office of AI is seeking a Staff Engineer to act as the hands-on technical arm for company-wide AI adoption. You will build governed, reusable software that uses LLM APIs, MCP servers, and our internal AI platform, turning ideas into production-ready solutions.

You will prototype department AI applications, lead enablement sessions, guide tech choices, and ensure governance before reaching business users.

Qualifications

5+ years as software engineer or similar.
Hands-on with building/shipping AI solutions using LLM APIs.
Strong ability to communicate with non-technical stakeholders.
Knowledge of MCP servers, AI tooling, and integration patterns for business contexts.
Security- and governance-conscious engineering practice.

Responsibilities

Prototype, build, and hand over department AI applications, working directly with the business team that will own the outcome.
Run technical enablement sessions with non-engineering teams: walk them through what was built, how to use it, and how to request the next feature.
Guide teams on tech stack choices, MCP servers, AI artefacts, and integration patterns for AI in a business context.
Ensure every implementation meets governance standards before it reaches a business user.
Document reusable patterns and components and contribute them back into the platform layer.
Contribute to the platform's next layer as it grows (LLM access gateway, RAG infrastructure, model operations, evaluation frameworks).
Partner with the AI Enablement Lead on the use-case pipeline: qualify requests, scope builds, and report on adoption.
