Job summary

Thunderstrike Aviation, Inc. is expanding its Quality organization and seeking a Safety Management System Engineer to develop and implement an enterprise SMS for next-generation unmanned aerial systems.

The role collaborates with Engineering, Manufacturing, Flight Test, Operations, and Quality teams to identify hazards, assess risk, and strengthen the company’s safety culture as we scale. The successful candidate will build the SMS from the ground up, establish reporting and governance

Qualifications

Experience building and implementing Safety Management Systems (SMS) in aerospace or aviation.
Knowledge of safety reporting, hazard management and governance.
Familiarity with AS9100 or aerospace regulatory environments.
Ability to coordinate cross-functional teams to drive safety actions.

Responsibilities

Build and implement Thunderstrike Aviation’s Safety Management System (SMS) including policies, procedures and reporting processes.
Establish processes for safety reporting, risk assessment and follow-up.
Develop safety communication, awareness and training across the organization.
Facilitate investigations, root cause analysis and corrective actions.
Coordinate multidisciplinary teams when safety issues or product risks are identified.
