Axelera AI is seeking a Senior AI Application Engineer to own LLM and VLM support on Metis and Europa AIPUs, shipping via the Voyager SDK. You will study models, prototype on hardware, and turn research into production features.

The role blends AI inference expertise with software engineering, using AI coding agents to build, test, and verify outcomes. Remote-friendly, with European team collaboration.

Qualifications

• 5+ years software/ML engineering with inference focus.
• Strong Python and PyTorch, production-grade software experience.
• Knowledge of transformer inference, KV caching, and quantization concepts.
• Experience with AI coding agents and practical model deployment.
• Ability to translate research to robust production features.

Responsibilities

• Study and prototype new LLM/VLM architectures on Metis/Europa hardware.
• Productize results into Voyager SDK features with stable APIs and tests.
• Define contracts for LLM/VLM components including inputs/outputs/weights.
• Integrate LLM/VLM serving into the Voyager SDK pipeline builder.
• Measure accuracy vs reference, explain gaps, and drive improvements.
• Extend enablement platform with environments, runtimes, and hardware tests.
• Recommend GenAI direction for edge devices and model zoo demos.
