Job summary

OrderYOYO is seeking a Lead Software Engineer – Payments to own the next stage of our payments platform. You’ll be a hands‑on technical leader who grows and guides a team of payments engineers and sets the direction for a business‑critical domain.

You’ll enable end‑to‑end money flows—authorisation, settlement, disputes—and partner with Product, Legal, Finance and Support to translate needs into safe, scalable production systems. Remote role with quarterly in‑person gatherings.

Qualifications

• Proven experience leading a software engineering team, including hiring and performance management.
• Strong backend experience in distributed systems and payment flows (auth, capture, refund).
• Security‑minded approach including PCI, data protection, and secure coding practices.
• Comfort working in an Azure‑first environment with CI/CD and testing discipline.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and grow the payments engineering team with regular feedback and career paths.
• Set technical direction for payment‑domain services, integrations, and settlement flows.
• Own end‑to‑end money movement, including reconciliation and fraud/chargeback handling.
• Collaborate with Product, Legal/Compliance, Finance and Support to translate requirements into production behavior.
• Balance rapid delivery with standards, observability, and incident response improvements.
