Job summary

Pleo is seeking a Staff Engineer to lead the Business Spend architecture, focusing on supplier data migration and reliable payment flows. You will collaborate with accounting, card infrastructure, and product teams to ensure consistency across vendor models from cards to accounting.

Qualifications

Strong verbal communication across multiple time zones and languages.
Experience as technical lead for a multi-country team.
Deep backend engineering in a statically typed language (Java, Kotlin, or TypeScript).
Track record migrating legacy systems while delivering production changes.
Ability to drive cross-team technical decisions via docs and reviews.

Responsibilities

Partner with Engineering Manager to own architecture for Business Spend.
Own significant parts of supplier data migration and legacy extraction per customer.
Improve reliability of invoice payment flows and reduce failures.
Turn new vendor data model into working software across cards, invoices, and accounting.
Help three teams make consistent technical decisions via design docs and reviews.
Elevate teammates through pairing, documentation, and knowledge sharing.
